Carrie Schneider’s Venice Biennale work backed by Fujifilm

Fujifilm is proud to support New York based artist Carrie Schneider in her latest creative endeavor exhibited at the Biennale Arte 2026 in Venice.

Last year, Carrie reached out to Fujifilm Europe seeking materials that would push the boundaries of both her artistic vision and the technical development of photographic paper.

First Living Woman, measuring one kilometer long- is probably the longest photograph ever made.  Her work explores the limits of traditional photography, using techniques like multiple exposures, light bleeds, and obstructions to create a unique visual language. Her photographs, each one a one-of-a-kind print, are produced with a lens-less camera that exposes existing images directly onto photographic paper.

With the materials supplied by Fujifilm, Carrie began her process and further refined her work in collaboration with the experienced team at Foto Leutner, a state-of-the-art photo lab based in Austria.

The exhibition is shown during The 61st International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia, In Minor Keys by Koyo Kouoh runs from Saturday, May 9 through Sunday, November 22, 2026,  offering audiences an opportunity to experience this groundbreaking and innovative artwork.
