Choosing the right finish
What impact does printing on Glossy, Lustre, Matte or Silk paper have on photos?
Glossy
The glossy surface shows a high reflective and smooth gloss on the photographic paper. Glossy finish produces brighter colour and offer more saturation.
Lustre
Lustre photographic paper has a charming brilliance with less reflection comparing to a glossy surface. But Lustre finish comes with a subtle slighter gloss texture compared to matte. It offers deeper colour saturation than matte and is higher in contrast.
Matte
A photo with matte finish has a smooth limited reflection and non-glare on the surface with a soft touch comparing to other surfaces.
Silk
Silk photographic paper has a smooth silk-like touch and feel and a brilliant shine which is less reflective.
Pearl
The embedded pearl-like crystals give a high gloss reflectance, especially in the highligths. Pearl effect is visible because of scattering and interference of light waves at the crystals.
Velvet
A professional coating with a zero-reflective top layer creates the ultimate soft and deep matte experience.
