A new edition of one of the most prestigious and important photography festivals in the country is underway! The 26th PhotoEspaña International Festival of Photography and Visual Arts, of which Fujifilm is a sponsor, recently kicked off in Madrid and will be open until 3 September.

Promoted by the Fundación Contemporánea and organised by La Fábrica, PhotoEspaña makes Madrid and Spain a meeting point for the world of photography every year.

The exhibition “Una visión propia” brings together a series of portraits of women from the contemporary cultural sphere taken by ten artists, Paula Anta, Soledad Córdoba, Angelica Dass, Estela de Castro, Carmela García, Laura M. Lombardía, Elisa Miralles, Sofía Moro, Gloria Oyarzábal and María Platero from the CSF (Cómo ser Fotógrafa) platform.

The title of the exhibition is inspired by the novel A Room of One’s Own, by Virginia Woolf, who advocated in her time for women’s independence and creative freedom in the world of art. Now, in the 21st century, women photographers are also demanding recognition of their own vision, far removed from aesthetic conditioning and classical conventions.

The photographs in this exhibition were printed in the Movol Color photo lab on Fujifilm Original Photographic Paper.

You can visit the exhibition until 27 August at the Museo Lázaro Galdiano (C/Serrano, 122, Madrid).
